Welcome to our new “Meet the Team” series. Each month we will be taking you behind the scenes and introducing you to HI Leaders, Recruiters, Account Managers, Consultants and others across our multiple locations who make our day to day business happen. Learn what makes our team-members tick, why they love their job, and what advice they want you to know. So, without further ado, let’s meet Anna!Anna Tucker is HI’s Corporate Trainer, based in our Minneapolis office, and has been with us for 3 and a half years. Anna began her career with HI as a Recruiter and found a great deal of success in Creative and Digital Recruiting. However, when the opportunity arose for her to become our new Trainer, her educational roots (she used to be a teacher!) quickly drew her to this exciting new position, which would combine her fundamental strengths in both the staffing industry and education.HI: What Attracted you to Recruiting?Anna: As cheesy as it sounds, I was looking for a career that helped others. I wanted to feel fulfilled in the work I did every day. When speaking with a friend who was a recruiter at the time, I learned that recruiting touched on many of my strengths.HI: What do you love most about Recruiting?Anna: Recruiting is much more than finding candidates for open positions. As a recruiter, you are a mentor, therapist, career advisor, negotiator, hunter, and much more. I love being able to share knowledge with candidates and provide insight about the current job market. I’ve also found that many friends and family members use me as a resource when they are in search of a new career because of my “insider knowledge.”HI: Let’s talk about your growth at HI.Anna: During my first 3 years at HI, I was a recruiter on the Digital and Creative team. I loved building connections and finding the perfect match for my candidates. When the internal training opportunity opened up, I was intrigued. I interviewed and was offered the position as a Trainer for all new Recruiters and Account Managers. This role really hones in on all of my previous skills as well as my deep understanding of staffing.HI: What do you find most rewarding about your job?Anna: I love sharing HI’s story and building our company from the inside-out. I get to share best practices and be a mentor for all of our new hires. Recruiting was rewarding, but I truly love seeing those I train succeed.HI: What can a candidate expect from working with HI?Anna: Before working here, my mom was placed through Horizontal Integration. Hearing about her positive experience with HI and not feeling like just a number, made me realize that HI operates different: we strive to be authentic and transparent with all of our candidates. Candidates can expect to have a genuine relationship with their recruiter and account manager throughout the entire process. We are here to help with your search, listen to what you need, and work with you to find the best match for you.HI: What advice would you give job seekers?Anna: Even if you aren’t considering contract positions, talk to a recruiter to get quality career advice. Recruiters have a good pulse on the current market and what hiring managers are looking for. Next, sit down and make a list of what you’re looking for in your next position. This is helpful for recruiters but also guides you during your search and conversations with hiring managers. Lastly, it can be very easy to get discouraged while searching for a new job, but stay positive. Searching for a job is all about finding the right match for both you and the company.HI: How would you describe yourself in 3 words?Anna: Cheerful, logical, and a planner
